Empowering Small Business Owners to Create Quality Jobs
Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) has launched the Good Jobs Entrepreneurs Fellowship, an initiative aimed at fostering small business practices that prioritize high-quality job creation. This groundbreaking program will support a cohort of 14 dedicated entrepreneurs who are committed to enhancing worker welfare through policies like subsidized health care and paid time off.
Championing a New Standard in Employment
The fellowship's goal is clear: to transform these exceptional business practices into standard operating procedures for small enterprises across the nation. By pooling resources and insights from the fellowship participants, PCV intends to identify actionable strategies that can guide other small business owners in implementing similar quality attributes.
Celebrating Diverse Voices in Business
Among the 14 fellows are notable figures such as Fernando Diaz of Proyecto Diaz Coffee and Reem Assil of Reem’s. These entrepreneurs not only provide competitive salaries but also pioneer benefits such as performance incentives. Notably, their backgrounds reflect the diversity within the business landscape, with 64% identifying as BIPOC and women.
Unlocking Potential Through Fellowship
PCV's research highlights that many small businesses struggle to provide high-quality jobs primarily due to funding limitations rather than a lack of desire to invest in their workforce. This fellowship program seeks to address these challenges by sharing success stories and best practices that demonstrate how strategic funding and support can enhance job quality. By collaborating and learning from one another, these business owners aim to become part of a larger movement that advocates for better working conditions.
Join us in supporting this initiative as it seeks to create a more equitable job market for small business employees everywhere.
